Location
The Science Park - Research Division campus is located in the Lost Pines of Bastrop County near Smithville, Texas, 120 miles northwest of Houston and 45 miles southeast of Austin, just off of State Highway 71.
From Austin:
Take Hwy 71 East through Bastrop and approaching Smithville. A green highway sign indicates the turn-off for “University of Texas MD Anderson Science Park.” Turn left onto Co. Rd. 174 (KLBJ Road). Make a sharp right turn, and then make a sharp left turn onto Ann Powell Road. Follow Ann Powell Road for 0.9 mi. to the stop sign, turn left onto Park Road 1-C and travel 0.6 mi. The entrance to the Science Park - Research Division is on the right.
From Houston
Take I-10 West to Columbus. Exit onto Hwy. 71 West, proceed 55 miles, through LaGrange and Smithville. There are 3 Smithville exits. Immediately past the 3rd exit (Loop 230/Hwy 95/FM 153), you will see the Smithville Airport and Riverside Veterinary Clinic on the left. Watch for the large green “University of Texas MD Anderson Science Park” sign about 0.8 mi. past the exit. Turn right onto Co. Rd. 174 (KLBJ Road). Make a sharp right turn, and then make a sharp left turn onto Ann Powell Road. Follow Ann Powell Road for 0.9 mi. to the stop sign, turn left onto Park Road 1-C and travel 0.6 mi. The entrance to the Science Park - Research Division on the right.
