Agarose Gel Electrophoresis of Low Molecular Weight DNA
This procedure performed in conjuction with DNA content provides reliable and reproducible results in the analysis of programmed cell death. In addition to verifying the results obtained by flow cytometry this method does not require the sorting of apoptotic regions to obtain low molecular weight DNA which is present in cells undergoing DNA fragmentation. Cells are fixed in 70% ethanol for DNA Content and an aliquot is reserved for the below procedure beginning with step 3.
