Roger brought some tasteful decorations that he placed around our campsite to get everyone psyched up for the party. The ornaments even danced a little in the light breeze. |

And the perfect accompanyment for brownies is champagne, right? Well, this was actually a little later in the evening-or maybe earlier; it's all kind of hazy now. Anyway, as you can see, Roger is really getting into the party spirit(s). Dick Clark can only dream of good times like this. |
| We brought an ample supply of noisemakers. I seriously doubt that anyone else heard these, although we later met another hiker who was camped just a few miles downstream from us with his dog. Of course, if we had known that, we would have been more discreet ;-) |

After counting down the seconds on Roger's GPS receiver, we toast the New Year, century, and millennium. Whatever, we toasted it. (From left to right: Susie, Roger, Sue and Andy). Boy were we stuffed. Nothing like smoked salmon and brie to chase fudge brownies. Hey everyone! Happy New Year! |
