The Public Health Student Internship provides interns with the opportunity to assist with ongoing COEP projects. Projects may include: providing resources, educational materials, career development programs and general support to the K-12 educational community, including students, teachers and administrators. The goal of these projects is to enhance EHS education and to encourage healthy, risk-reducing lifestyle choices. Interns will contribute to increased understanding of the causes and prevention of environmental disease through translation of research findings for the general public and policy makers. Lastly, interns will also have the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of COEP programs, curricula and activities, and subsequently guide revisions in order to better meet the needs of target audiences.
